The Cutting Room Creative Team is led by three times Northern Winners of British Hairdressing Awards Charles and Karen Dodds.  Alongside their brilliant Art Director Rick Dodds, and a talented and creative team of six hairdressers, The Dodds are proud to introduce their 2008 Men’s Collection, Human Art, a truly unique and inspiring collaboration.

Karen, Charles and Rick made this collection come alive through Rick’s connections at Saatchi and Saatchi where he met a hot new illustrator on the London scene, Bobby Flowers, and brought him into the mix of it all.

The innovative and iconic imagery represents the vision of three very different, forward thinking and creative talents. They set out to create something fresh and original and with Human Art, they certainly did. 

An evening of wine and enthusiastic chat brought the idea for this unusual photo shoot and collection to life.  Rick used street models he found after searching the London bars and pubs, and Charles and Karen produced these amazing hairstyles.  Their aim was to create a collection of men’s hair and style images that truly united all three disciplines in five theatrical images. They created a fun and exciting set of pictures, with wearable and edgy looks.

The hair was shot cleanly against a white background, and then the poses formed to house the illustration. After the photo shoot, Bobby Flowers busted out his MAC and graphically drew these unusual and stunning designs over the models torsos. The finished effect is a shoot that complements, not overpowers the hair, and an illustration piece that adds some original flair.  It is truly a remarkable Cutting Room Creative Collection!
