It’s been a very long week for those of us involved in the relief efforts, indeed.  We’ve had an outpouring of support from all of you in our behindthechair.com community, which has brought tears to the eyes of our team on more than one occasion.  We’ve been working diligently to figure out how to match up those of you in need to those offering support.  As you may have seen, we have placed email addresses and contact information onto all of the letters we’ve received, so each of you in the community can help each other.  If you see an offer of help, please make contact directly.  If you would like to help and see a story that coincides with what you’re offering, then please reach out and contact that salon pro directly.

So far, we’ve received thousands of dollars in donations and we know that thousands of you are holding cut-a-thons and placing our “Don’t Give Me A Tip Today” posters up in your salons.  That’s an incredible start!  We want to see your pictures of cut-a-thons, so make sure to send them all in to BTC so other members can see what you’re doing and accomplishing.

We thought we’d share with you what we’ve learned about the losses- both financial and emotional- in the salon communities in LA, MS and AL.  So far, what we know, based on information from the Louisiana State Board, is there are somewhere between 6,000-9,000 salon pros affected from around 3,000 salons and more than 15 schools; and remember, this is JUST in Louisiana alone.
