The best in beauty attended the 17th Annual Mirror Awards in March to recognize and celebrate those who work in the beauty industry. This year, one hairdresser took home top honors and walked away with the title of Canadian Hairstylist of the Year: Chad Taylor of Moods Hair Salon, and here’s the collection that earned him the top prize.

In addition to award winners in 24 categories, the Mirror Awards had three unique “new” offerings this year: Salon Marketing Innovation Award – A new award given to a salon that shows marketing in a unique and different way to attract customers into a salon, was awarded to Studio 237 of Belleville, Ontario. Gino Luciani, Hair Avanti of Etobicoke, Ontario was given the Lifetime Leaders Award while legendary Robin Barker, Hair’Sociates of Toronto, Ontario was given the Lifetime Achievement Award.  In a live “texting” event, audience members as well as the public at large selected the Hairstylists’ Choice Award winner, Dee Fortier of Deeva Salon of Kitchener, Ontario.
