Canadian Hairdresser Magazine 15th Annual Mirror Award Winners
Canadian Hairdresser Magazine 15th Annual Mirror Awards honored and celebrated the best in Canada on Saturday, March 28 at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto.
“The Mirror Awards are a celebration of the passion and love of hair and of those who work in the beauty industry,” says Joan Harrison, CEO, Harco Publishing, and publisher of Canadian Hairdresser Magazine. “It is an event that recognizes the talents of Canada’s leading hairstylists and beauty professionals, and cheers the industry’s most remarkable and innovative works from across the country.”
A panel of 11 judges reviewed over 200 entries to select finalist in 23 categories, and the following hairdressers and teams are the recipients of a 2009 Mirror Award:

Men’s Cut and Stylist of the Year – Pascal Saab, The Artists by Johnny Cupello, Newmarket ON
Newcomer of the Year – Amanda Di Carlo, Inpure II, Point-Claire, QC
Colourist of the Year – Lindie Blackwell, Spyce-Spa & Hair Studio, Barrie, ON
Fantasy Hairstylist of the Year – Franco De Simone, Salon Escape, Toronto, ON

The Mirror Awards, presented by Canadian Hairdresser Magazine were hosted by Juno-nominated singer and actress Cory Lee, of CTV’s international hit drama series, Instant Star. Lee shared the stage with dancers and performers bringing to life a theme of smoke and mirrors to an audience of over 650 people.
In addition, Canadian Hairdresser Magazine will award 14 Youth Initiative Scholarships a program that continues to help newcomers from across Canada to pursue their dreams and goals while evolving into successful individuals in the hair and beauty industry.
