At the end of last year, BTC members were given the chance to win a fantastic excursion care of Australia’s award winning hairdresser…Jamie Carroll.  By purchasing his then latest collection in the BTC Bookstore, members were automatically entered in a drawing for a trip to “the land down under”.

The winner, Thomas Sena of T’eez Salon in Omaha spent 4 nights and 5 days learning from and working with Jamie and exploring the countryside.  Joining him in this adverture were 2 other international winners of the contest- Karen from Scotland who won via Hairdressers’ Journal and Tracey of Tasmania who entered via In Style Magazine.

Afer chilling out the first morning, Jamie took everyone on a boat ride up to National Park followed by a drive around Sydney.  The next day they spent in training – first on business methods, especially client booking and retention, and then learning to do individual interpretations of Jamie’s Envision Academy styles.  

The rest of the time was spent touring the countryside – including a trip to Jamie’s hometown where Tom and the others learned all about sheep shearing and enjoyed a winery tour and Australian barbeque.  One night Jamie’s mom even cooked them a special meal and invited a famous Australian poet and local “cowboys” who talked about life in the bush.
