It’s a provocative combination of hair artistry, conventional makeup and body painting, and, declares Mikel Sessions, the mastermind behind the images, there are no tricks. “It was really important to us that the photos be actual photos,” he says, “not composites or digitally manipulated illusions.” Hmmm. Just how did they do that?
