David Adams has a thing for redheads. So for his second collection for redCHOCOLATE, he turned to his favorite vibrant copper hues. Using a unique layering technique, he achieves brilliant color variation that remains true to the original palette. David explains, “We had to remove the existing color from both models in order to start with a clean canvas. When we did, the underlying pigment was very uneven. I decided to work with that. I made it more uneven adding dark and light pieces randomly. Then I layered vibrant, dark copper over this uneven base. It was like painting a wall with patches of light paint and patches of dark pain and washing over the entire thing with copper.”
