Sydney-siders Jamie Carroll and Marney Hands were in LA in January showcasing their hair and make-up prowess at a number of exclusive G’Day LA: Australia Week events as well as “styling the stars” for the prestigious Golden Globes Film & Television Awards.

G’day LA – Australia Week 2005 is a joint initiative between the Australian Consulate-General, Australian Trade Commission, Tourism Australia and Qantas Airways and is an annual 10-day Festival showcasing Australia as a great place to do business, source product, invest or visit.  It is widely supported by Australian film, music and sports celebrities including Mel Gibson, Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban, Greg Norman, Steve Irwin the Crocodile Hunter and many more. 

During a hectic week, Jamie & Marney worked with Australian actresses Kerry Armstrong, Diana Glen and Kimberly Joseph and were also the chief stylists for 12 models in the spectacular Australian Fashion Show which took place in conjunction with the Australian Film Festival Opening Night at Hollywood’s historical Egyptian Theatre.

Leading up to the Golden Globes, Jamie and Marney also created wonderful styles for members of Cable TV – HBO and Miramax Films and later worked with the 2004 Miss Universe – Australian Jennifer Hawkins plus a number of other high-profile guests at the Australia Week Black-Tie Ball  which honored prominent Australians Mel Gibson, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban.
