A FirstLOOK at DryerARTTHE Party at Premiere Orlando

The National Cosmetology Association (NCA) created a world-class beauty event with a FirstLOOK at fall fashion, plus an exhibit and auction of the first ever DryerART. It was THE place to be August 21, 2004 prior to Premiere/Orlando show, the primary sponsor of the event.

Creativity was the focus whether in fashion, beauty trends, innovative artwork, or party moves.  All elements combined to make the evening one of fun, inspiration and charity.

FirstLOOK featured eye-catching styles by Clairol Professional’s Marcy Cona & Danny LaPointe, Creative Nail Design’s Mónica Leiper & Risé Carter, the Paul Mitchell Design Team from John Paul Mitchell Systems,  L’Oréal Technique’s Fabio Scalia, Erica Cerpa & Lorna Mazzone of Repêchage, Rusk’s Sandra Yu, Sally Beauty’s Stacey Jones, Sam Siscuso, Matt Duris & Kristi Fuhrmann, Sexy Hair Concepts’ Michael O’Rourke, Ian Browning & Carla Horwitz and Christopher & Sonya Dove of The Wella Corporation.

DryerART– artwork where the “canvas” is a blow dryer.  Check out some more of the creative works!  This event is a new industry effort to raise funds for Salons Against Domestic Abuse Fund®, a partnership of NCA, Clairol Professional and Southern Living at HOME.  Original works of DryerART were exhibited and auctioned to the highest bidders at the gala event.

Some of the other salon celebrity artists who contributed their talent included Luis Alvarez, Martin Parsons, Christopher Dove, Robert Cromeans, Michael O’Rourke, Marcy Cona, and many more. Almost $12,000 was raised by auctioning 35 of the DryerART pieces. Some DryerART works were for exhibit only at FirstLOOK and will soon be available through an online auction to all interested bidders including Floyd Kenyata’s work adorned with a diamond! Details will be posted on www.ncacares.org
