A 60th Birthday Show for Haute Coiffure Française from Estetica

On Sunday, September18th in Paris, Haute Coiffure Française celebrated sixty years of creativity with a spectacular day of hair shows. The underlying inspiration, repeated in each show presented, was the group’s autumn/winter collection,  “Duel”. A mixture of genders and genres (female/male, past and present, refinement and eccentricity) lie at the center of the season’s hair fashion.

After a welcoming speech from President Alain Villiers, L’Oréal Professionnel’s Catherine Guillery took to the stage to explain the origins and influences behind the new L’Oréal Professionnel color collection. It’s a play on paradox – from Empire style with refined fabrics such as lace and velvet, to a Rock flavor with eccentric cuts and styles; from a precious child-like quality to a diva- esque extravagance. The collection encompasses five roles: Dandy, Queen, Doll, Rock and Circus. Each highlights the thousand different faces of the modern woman in search of a change.

The first show of the day was presented by the Haute Coiffure Française artistic team. Three cuts and styles began with the same technique and then moved into different lengths. The short and mid-length versions were complemented by subtle highlights in the front to emphasize the texturing.

After the presentation of the line, the stage became the scene for ideas inspired by the color collection. The woman of the new season became a “Dandy” under the scissors of Laetitia Guenaou and Eric Zemmour, who re-adopted men’s clothing. The inspiration was the early 20th century woman who chose the freedom of a frock-coat, jabot and tie without renouncing her favorite materials – satin and lace – or accessories – brooches and necklaces. The female Dandy combines and overlaps a variety of materials. Haircuts become like hats, essential accessories for the perfect 21st century Dandy.

Exaggeration abounded in the looks presented by the Laurent Decreton and Jean Marc Joubert artistic team, who offered “over-sized” hairstyles with full volume and body for the woman who loves extensions, curls and backcombed hair. The colours were soft – mother-of-pearl with peach and pink highlights for a delicate result.

Finally, the HCF junior team gave a touch of sophistication and sensuality to doll-like women, with extreme hairstyling and huge chignons. From there, they moved to the age of rock, with mohawks and severe structured cuts. Finally, a circus-inspired theme offered styles for the woman of many faces who opts for fantasy and imagination in her look.
