Cassie Carey (@cassiecarey.hair) won big at the 2022 #ONESHOT Hair Awards as she was named the winner in three different categories for this highly creative and masterful collection: North American Editorial Collection, North American Styling Collection and North American Texture Shot.

Cassie drew her inspiration from her childhood. Her cosmetology school lacked any textured hair education, but her best friend had 4C hair and was vulnerable with her—allowing Cassie to learn about working with different hair textures and all of the things her education was lacking.

“I decided back then that one day when I was ready and had taken the time to learn, I would shoot a collection completely about celebrating the beauty of textured hair. And this is that collection,” Cassie said.
