2005 Redken International Symposium

This year’s Redken International Symposium – ‘Beyond Your Expectations’ – certainly lived up to its name.

Doing It By the Numbers- Attendees included 8730 stylists (800 of them International) plus 1200 – 1500 distributor personnel; 31,000 pieces of Redken literature distributed via Street Teams; and 43,500 consumer magazines were distributed at the Newsstand.

They’re Playing Our Song- In the Grand Opening musical, a less than enthusiastic hairdresser in need of inspiration has a revelation (actually three), and learns that she can achieve a better life with a fresh outlook and a little creativity – and of coarse great products and education from Redken.  She is encouraged to “Be part of it” and join the Redken Symposium.  And later, Maroon 5 performed at the Symposium Bash.

Educate Me- Phenomenal presentations and classes included:

*   Kris Sorbie/ Chris Baran- Trendstion (’05 trend forecast — Intersection)

*   David Stanko- Let’s Talk about Change

*   George Alderete & Dhaniel Doud- 2 Boys & Their Prada Bag of Tricks

*   Justin Issac & George Garcia- Liquid Graffiti

*   Ashley Dixon & Jill Leitz – Fire and Ice

Networking Fun- In the Buzz Lounge attendees could surf the web, network and catch up on email. And an online instant win game had 1,200 registrations with 4 winners a day with prizes provided by Redken’s magazine partners including spa gift certificates, tickets to the Vibe awards, a Gucci purse and wallet, a Dooney and Burke watch, etc.
