2004 Stylist Choice Awards
When you want to know the best in products, you go to the experts who use them everyday! That’s why Behindthechair.com, the beauty industry’s largest online community for licensed professionals, polled its membership base of more than 75,000 to determine the winners of the 2004 Stylist Choice Awards. Over 1,400 of the industry’s finest including finalists, winners, industry leaders, the press and BTC members all gathered at CROBAR in New York City on April 25th for the party of the season to celebrate the very best in beauty.
When you’re hot, you’re hot! Redken Fifth Avenue again snagged multiple awards, not the least of which was the coveted Best Overall Professional Products Company, an honor they have now achieved four years in a row. Not to be outdone, Robert Cromeans, Artistic Director of John Paul Mitchell Systems, was named Favorite Platform Artist for a fourth consecutive year. Paul Mitchell also grabbed awards for Sculpting Foam, Super Skinny and Favorite Brush. Prizes went to broad cross-section of manufacturers including TIGI for its Bedhead Dumb Blonde Reconstructor and Bedhead Manipulator, Redken for Smooth Down and Shades EQ. Matrix claimed awards for Amplify, and Sleek.look and Sebastian scored again with Shaper Plus and Trucco. Farouk ran away with the tools category, capturing the Flat Iron and Blow Dryer awards.
The awards event and rockin’ after-party, held at NYC’s hottest new club, Crobar, included a virtual “Who’s Who” of beauty industry artists and leaders. Program presenters included Robert Cromeans, Edward Tricomi, Robert Lobetta, Kris Sorbie, Chris Baran, Sandra Yu, Sam Villa, Beth Minardi, Scott Cole, Paul Smith, Joe Anthony and Lisa Marie, Carlos Cintron, Teri Dougherty, Teri Donnelley, Winn Claybaugh, Andrew Bartfield, Angelia Ponsinelli, Charlie Morris-Price, Michael Devellis, Sandra Smith, Nicholas French, Mark Garrison, Sam Brocato, Nick Arrojo, Steven Melito, Dwight Miller, John Moroney, Hannah Lee and Kerry Cannon. VIP’s from top beauty companies, including Paul Mitchell, Matrix, Redken, Aveda, Bumble and bumble, TIGI, Farouk, Farouk, Takara Belmont, Sebastian, Wella, Goldwell, OPI, and many more also attended.
