2004 Alternative Hair Show USA / Surrealism
The Seventh Annual U.S. Alternative Hair Show, was held last Sunday, February 29, 2004, in conjunction with the Chicago Midwest Beauty Show® in Rosemont, IL. Remember the fun…or check out what you missed!
Sixteen teams from around the globe captivated a record number of more than 3,500 salon professionals and guests. Splashy, seductive and altogether stunning this spectacular event offered a surrealistic look inside the creative mind of our community, featuring breathtaking hair and fashion artistry by the world’s most influential and innovative stylists.
Teams included: Alan Edwards, Scotland; Blanco, Japan; Bundy Bundy, Austria; Floyd Kenyatta, USA; Frank Gironda, USA; Gandini Team, Italy; Kris Sorbie, USA; Luis Llongueras, Spain; Nicholas French, USA; Robert Cromeans, USA; Sanrizz, England; The Doves, USA: Toni & Guy, USA; Trio Salon, USA; and Vivienne Mackinder, USA.
Tickets from this year’s show raised $200,000 for charities. Plus more than $15,000 in donations came from the audience during a silent offering— all in less than five minutes! Over the past seven years, the U.S. Alternative Hair Shows, co-sponsored by Cosmetologists Chicago®, The Wella Corporation, Modern Salon and Canadian Hairdresser Magazine, have already contributed more than $1.5 million to leukemia research.
