Your Connection to the Future Begins Here!
What was your last beauty show experience like? You probably remember hearing all of the latest Top 40 songs blaring over the speakers instead of hearing your favorite educators that you waited in line for hours to see. And if you were lucky enough to be within earshot of your favorite artist, you probably heard them give out some of their innovative tips—although muffled through the microphone. During your last beauty show, you saw booths everywhere—a hodgepodge of everyone—with models, dancers and floods of angry salespeople yelling “SELL! SELL! SELL!” at every turn. By the end of the day, you went home, exhausted, flustered and slightly frustrated knowing that you didn’t get the most out of your beauty show experience.
BTC Founder and Creative Director, Mary Rector-Gable, saw this frustration and realized that the beauty industry has an obligation to serve salon professionals in a much better way. That’s why her dreams for the Connection Center at BTC’s COLOR, Cut & Style were different than the rest. Her vision was a space not jam-packed with booths from floor to ceiling, but a friendly environment with brand studios—wide open studio spaces where the brands had enough space to truly educate but also where visitors weren’t jammed together, elbow-to-elbow. The studios had to be comfortable, yet intimate and to fulfill this, the artists in the Connection Center are forbidden from playing music and using microphones. Get this—you’re actually able to listen to the educators in front of you!
Furthermore, the Connection Center is far more exclusive than other show floors around. Instead of jamming everyone and everything into the Center, BTC hand-picked only the best brands to fill our studio spaces. For COLOR 2015, Mary chose Aveda, TIGI®, Wella Professionals, Schwarzkopf Professional, ghd, Goldwell, L’Oréal Professional, Kenra Professional, Beth Minardi Signature, Farouk Systems and Paul Mitchell as our booth studios. At these studios, you will have the opportunity to learn techniques hands-on, as well as try out the latest products. And you will not be compelled to purchase before you try—the goal of the Connection Center is all about education! And at these brand studios, as well, you will be able to collect Color Formula and How-To Cards as you venture from studio to studio, allowing you to build a walking repertoire of the latest skills you’ve obtained from COLOR.
However, you might be asking yourself: When will I find the time to visit the Connection Center being that a day at COLOR is packed full of stage shows or Look & Learn classes? Don’t worry—Mary thought of this too! The Connection Center is open all day, every day of COLOR, Cut & Style—from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. When you walk into the Connection Center first thing in the morning, make sure you stop by the complimentary coffee bar to keep you energized for a long day of classes and Connection Center perusing. There are also breaks between each class or stage show that allows attendees to travel to the Connection Center. The midday lunch breaks give more than enough time to grab a bite to eat and then spend time in the Center. Best of all, your favorite artists from your favorite brands will be there—before and after their stage shows. Without a doubt, you’ll run into whomever you want to see at the Connection Center.
Are you ready to meet with your favorite artists, educators and brands in a learning environment unlike anything that you have ever experienced before? We’re ready for you!
