Winners of Sport Clips Back to School Contest Announced

close formula

It’s almost time to say goodbye to cutoff jeans and beach barbeques and hello to fall sweaters and pumpkin-spiced everything. Yep, it’s hard to believe summer is coming to an end—but one thing you can get excited about? Back to school style. To help all their stylists inspire and be inspired this back-to-school season, Sport Clips encouraged its members to share their most popular back-to-school looks and how-tos on Instagram. Using the hashtag #SportClipsBTS, stylists submitted their photos and step-by-steps. This week, after much debate, three winning looks were chosen. Without further ado, here are the winners and their how-tos!

1. @nickijust02

BEFORE: Nicki’s mini client requested a clean, tapered pomp with a hard side part.

To achieve the look, Nicki used Wahl Clippers with a #1-1/2 guard, bringing it up high on the left part. On the top, she used shears, and she blended the right side using blending shears for a softer effect.

She then added a hard part using an Andis T-Outliner Trimmer, then combed the hair to one side and pushed the front back using American Crew Foaming Cream.

AFTER: Ready for school!

2. stayfly13

April first sectioned off a square section in the top to create a disconnection, then used Wahl Clippers with a #1-1/2 guard to take up the sides and back.

She then used the Wahl Detailer Trimmer to carve a unique shape into the neckline. April used minimum pressure while doing her line work.

To finish, April added two lines at the left temple using the Wahl Detailer Trimmer and styled with Sexy Hair Spray Clay.

3. @jessercat

BEFORE: Prior to sectioning, Jessica shampooed using American Crew Daily Moisturizing Shampoo and applied Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Hair and Body Moisturizer to tame the coarse texture.

She then sectioned off the top working area prior to cutting.

Jessica started with a #4 guard to achieve a medium fade.

Working her way up from the #4, she used her blending comb to blend the top with the sides.

Next, she tapered the neckline, working her way down from the #4 to a 0 on the hairline.

AFTER: Jessica used Paul Mitchell Reformer Strong Hold/Matte Finish Texturizer for Men to get the texturized look on top.
