For the color chameleons in your chair, maintaining the integrity of her hair is high priority. If she wants to switch to a low-maintenance, sun-kissed color but her strands are feeling a little porous, then check out this stunning balayage transformation from balayage expert and L’Oréal Professionnel Artist Nancy Braun. See how it’s done when she took over our FB Live!

Before

Here are some of the top tips Nancy shared:

  • The goal is to create movement, not heavy highlights. Nancy says balayage by lightly skimming the surface of her hair, ensuring the formula doesn’t go through to the underside.
  • Nancy says you need to understand the history of her hair before you decide the amount of saturation. For this fine-haired client, Nancy knew she had a lot of history but would also lift quickly, so she went with a light saturation.
  • Why balayage instead of foil highlights? Nancy says she prefers a balayage technique because it creates a softer, more natural-looking sun-kissed color.
