Jenny’s Braid Tips

Braids for days! Which one do you like?

1. Set yourself up for success! Start with tangle-free hair to give you the cleanest, most precise sections. (You can always muss it up later if you want that Boho feel.)

2. If you’re starting with silky, shiny strands, don’t worry—reach for your texturizing products! Jenny uses Kenra Dry Texture Spray to give hair grip and grit and ensure a braid that will stay put.

3. But what if you’re working with textured hair that ALREADY has that coarse, gritty feel? Jenny says you may want to spritz the hair with a product like Kenra Shine Spray to create some slip and soften the hair, which will help you with parting and sectioning.

4. The fatter that braid, the more Insta hearts you’ll get! Achieve the perfect Boho vibe by “pancaking” those braids—pulling and stretching—for width and fullness. If hair is fine, use a product like Kenra Platinum Dry Shampoo directly on the braid prior to pancaking for added plumping assistance.
