The New Kim-Approved Ombré
Don’t call it a comeback… Kim Kardashian may appear to have an ombré hairstyle, but has she ever been one to return to a trend? She’s MAKING the trends! And we have the details about her new ‘do straight from the source: MIZANI Global Artistic Director Cesar Ramirez.
Kim’s color base is a nice chocolate brown with a fine tone-on-tone highlight. Cesar painted her face-framing pieces with some bold toffee and caramel shades. It’s his revamp to ombré—according to Cesar, there’s no need for an all-over ombré. This technique gives you an effortless, grown-out, rock ‘n’ roll color.
Once the color was perfect. Cesar cut about 5 inches off and did a lot of his layering through texturizing. He loves the idea of invisible layers. The reason for this is that some days he likes to style her hair to look all one length (it’s super modern) but for a daily style, he wanted it to have a cool bedhead feel.
To style, Cesar prepped with MIZANI 25 Miracle Milk, he protects and strengthens the hair with MIZANI Thermastrength Heat Styling Serum to make those colored end feel strong again. Then, he rough-dried the hair before using a flat iron to build texture. His pro tip? A few simple bends are all you need to create a lot of movement for this signature done/undone look. “The secret is not to try so hard,” he says!
“Being a new mom can take a toll on anyone’s beauty regimens,” Cesar shared. “There’s nothing like a new cut and color! It’s the ultimate pick-me-up. That’s why I love what I do, I love inspiring people to feel great and look sexy.”
