The Fashion Behind ECRU New York
ECRU New York has been a fixture in fashion for years. Having been onsite and backstage at New York Fashion Week since 2000, the brand has learned the difference between everything and something. They’ve learned that the less you need, the more you have. And this brand…they truly have it all.
Because the company has such deep roots in the fashion world, ECRU New York joined forces with Gen Art, an organization focused on launching the next generation of artists, while creating custom experiences for forward-thinking brands. The combination of these two teams couldn’t have been more perfect, as ECRU New York is an advocate of supporting emerging creative talent and Gen Art’s mission is to bring awareness to up and coming talent. The Gen Art Fashion Show typically takes place on the first day of Fashion Week and has debuted some of today’s most notable designers including Zac Posen, Rebecca Taylor, Shoshanna, Chaiken, Cloak, Eugenia Kim, Sari Gueron, Hollywould and many more.
So let’s get to the hair. ECRU New York’s Creative Director, Lisa Lobosco, is the creative mind behind the styling for most of the Fresh Faces Fashion Show, and with 30+ years in the industry, she has seen it all. Lisa has worked on everything from runways to editorial and platform work, as well as traveled around the globe educating thousands of stylists. She was named a NAHA finalist and has been featured in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and W.
While Lisa is more than well-versed in everything fashion- and styling-related, an artist needs a product behind their work that truly delivers and can be trusted—The Cosmetic Haircare Collection from ECRU New York does both of these things. Combining high-quality skincare and cosmetic grade ingredients, alongside a brand that actually compliments the trends of today’s designers while meeting the needs for your clients, ECRU New York has created the total package. With Lisa’s knowledge of the industry as well as the “Treat and Perform” mentality of the brand, it’s safe to say that under her direction—along with the designers vision—creating hair that brings the show’s message to life is a total guarantee.
