THE BTC SHOW 2018: Day 1

QUICK! What’s the best way to end your summer? At THE BTC SHOW of course—and today was day one! We kicked off the seventh year of THE BTC SHOW (aka the industry’s biggest event) in San Antonio, where 3,500 hairdressers from our BTC fam got to experience all the first-day feels along with some top-notch education. Moroccanoil®

Moroccanoil® Artistic Director Kevin Hughes, Global Ambassador Briana Cisneros and Artist Liza Espinoza opened the show this year showcasing a combination of on-trend coloring, cutting and styling techniques. From a grungy, face-framing fringe to cutting textured curls to keeping those blonde money pieces ultra healthy—their mainstage show was all about educating the stylist for every client coming through the door. L’ANZA Healing Haircare

L’ANZA Healing Haircare Global Creative Director Matt Swinney, Global Healing Color Director Leah Freeman and Global Creative Director Ammon Carver took the stage for their third straight year and, as always, it was LIT! From always-fresh tips and techniques you can bring directly back to the salon to the signature eco-friendly gowns on the catwalk, keep scrolling to see everything from their artistic presentation!

Virtue Labs 

Celebrity stylist Adir Abergel created two quick red carpet upstyles while Virtue Labs Founder & CEO Melisse Shaban explained how Alpha Keratin 60ku actually repairs hair. Plus, Sharon Dorram, celeb colorist, talked about a new Virtue product (we don’t know what yet!) that you can add to color to repair the hair!

Matrix

It was all about SOCOLOR Cult this year for team Matrix! To announce their new direct, demi- and semi-permanent color line on THE BTC SHOW stage, Matrix Artistic Directors Chrystofer Benson, Nick Stenson, Daniel Roldan and Michael Albor came out alongside Matrix Ambassadors Constance Robbins, Rickey Zito, Philip Wolff and Mustafa Avci to go over everything color, styling and social media related!

amika

Braids, Brooklyn vibes + BTC babes = amika’s mainstage presentation at this year’s BTC SHOW! We loved watching amika Global Artistic Director Naeemah LaFond and Megan Schipani (@shmeggsandbaconn) slay Instagram-worthy styles onstage, bringing a high-energy performance that we’re STILL thinking about. Olaplex 

Olaplex VP Sales Jeff Schwartz and VP Success Joe Santy took the mainstage to share the science, identity and impact of the groundbreaking bond builder. Plus, they introduced (and the audience went crazy for) the all-new Olaplex No.4 and No.5 bond maintenance shampoo and conditioner.

PRAVANA

Their colors are VIVID and their education is LIT…the PRAVANA COLLECTIVE Artists showed us exactly what they’re made of during their first mainstage presentation. Some of Instagram’s coolest colorists—@presleypoe, @chitabeseau, @kayla_boyer @nealmhair, @rossmichaelssalon and @taylorrae_hair—slayed the color game on Day One and we’re obsessed, so keep scrolling to see some of their best moments!

TIGI®

The TIGI® team always TURNS UP for THE BTC SHOW, and this year was no different. Their mainstage presentation hosted A TON of their artists from artistic directors to brand ambassadors including Anthony Mascolo, Thomas Osborn, Christel Lundqvist, Akos Bodi, Richy Kandasamy, Renée Valerie, Joel Torres, Brian Adelman, Philip Downing and Wesley Palmer.

What happens when we put celebrity hairdressers, Instagram’s favorite cutters and barbers all onstage together? Hair hits the floor. Seriously. This is the second year of BTC Co-Lab presentations and they have become a fan-favorite at the BTC SHOW.
