  • Formula C:

    Pravana VIVIDS Silver + Pravana VIVIDS Violet + Pravana VIVIDS Wild Orchid (* Note: Kendi did not measure her pigment shades, she mixed by sight, like a painter would mix a new shade of paint).

  • Formula D:

    Pravana VIVIDS Silver + Pravana VIVIDS Magenta + Pravana VIVIDS Wild Orchid 

This decadent hue incorporates plum and raspberry tones, creating a deep, multidimensional shade. “My client loves bold, bright colors, and we have been playing with varying shades of deep purple for the last six months,” notes stylist  Kendi Sullinger from Sessions Hair Company in Daytona, FL. During a recent appointment, Kendi’s client decided to lighten up a little, and decided to add pink tones to her hair. “She didn’t want to lose the purple completely…so together we decided on a smoky purple to peachy pink color melt to give her the best of both worlds! Here’s how she created this tangy, sweet shade!

FORMULA STEPS

1. Apply Formula B to regrowth and pull it through 1-inch of the previously colored hair, throughout the entire head.

 

2. Balayage Formula A to every section of hair, in varying lengths, about 2 to 4 inches away from the scalp.

 

3. When the hair reaches the desired level of lightness—a pale yellow—and Formula B has processed for at least 20 minutes, shampoo and condition the hair, then thoroughly towel-dry the hair.

 

4. Applied Formula C to lightened areas through to the ends, and apply Formula D to blend the Formula A at the roots into Formula C to help create a seamless transition of color.

 

5. Process for 20 minutes, the rinse and shampoo and condition the hair. Style as desired.
