Lavender Roots, Silver Ends

Shining, shimmering, splendid! Clients covet metallic pastels—so Rose Danilo (@rosedoeshair) from Moxie Salon & Spa in Sandusky, OH, gave us the details on her latest client transformation. Her ashy blonde client wanted a change, and had previously been lightened to a cool, Level 10 blonde. Rose opted for an on-trend lavender look that melts into steely silver. Here’s how she did it!

Starting Level: Natural ash Level 8/9, pre-lightened to a cool Level 10

Kenra Color Formulas
Formula A: 1 oz. Kenra Color 8sm + 1/2 oz. 8vm with 6 inches of violet kicker + 10-volume developer

Formula B: 1 1/2 oz. 8sm + 10-volume developer

Application
1. Apply Formula A roughly 2 inches to the root area, using your brush to backcomb the hair while you apply to create a blur effect.

2. Apply Formula B, blending into Formula A, and pull through the ends.

3.
Use a wide-tooth comb to continue to melt the two colors together.

4. Process for 25 minutes.

5. Rinse with cool water, shampoo and condition the hair. Style as desired.

Price: Rose charged the client $75 total—$60 for the base color and $15 for the second color.
