How-To: Four-Strand Rope Braid

How do you make a rope stronger? You braid it! Check out this quick and easy four-strand rope braid by our pals at Sexy Hair.

This rope braid was inspired by the new Strong Sexy Hair line. Formulated with aloe vera and mango butter, the line’s three-step system helps restore strength and flexibility, plus prevents hair breakage by up to 80 percent.

HOW-TO STEPS

    Gather the hair into a low ponytail.

  • 2

    Divide the hair into four strands.

  • 3

    Starting on the outside left, move that section over two strands, and then wrap it under the second strand.

  • 4

    Repeat on the opposite side.

  • 5

    Move from side to side repeating this pattern…over two, under and around the second one.

  • 6

    After wrapping the section under and around, pull all pieces tight to enhance the effect of the braid. Continue to the end and secure with elastic.
