How-To: 3 Voluminous ’60s-Inspired Styles

close formula

Ready for something fresh and full for spring? These three styles by Oribe Educator Adam Livermore offer Brigitte Bardot-inspired volume without a smidgen of backcombing! We broadcast these how-tos LIVE on Facebook from Broome Street Society in New York’s Soho. Plus, we announced the winners of the Oribe #lightscameraoribe contest. Check it out!

First, some tips:

  • Your curls aren’t as robust if you blow out the hair with a round or flat brush first, so power-dry only before your curl set.
  • The key to setting volume in the hair is a strong on-base iron technique and overdirection. Adam shows you how it’s done in the video!
  • Use Oribe Free Styler liberally before you curl each section for style memory.
  • Oribe Swept Up is the secret to volume and lift without backcombing. Watch Adam’s technique for applying it in the video!

Congrats to Sami Sue, @samisueluvsyourhair, of Dolce Salon & Spa in Scottsdale, Ariz.! She is the #lightscameraoribe winner, which means she gets to attend one of the four Oribe Ateliers (with hotel and airfare included). Great work Sami Sue! The Ateliers will be held in Seattle, Atlanta, Nashville and San Francisco this year. Check out her winning entry where she demonstrates how to use Free Styler and Swept Up to create three men’s looks.
