Global Beauty Masters TV Series to Premiere Dec. 2 on Discovery Fit and Health
United States, Japan, South Africa, Canada, Argentina, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama & Puerto Rico face off in Beauty & Fashion Battle for Title of Global Beauty Masters
Coined the “World Cup of Beauty”—the most extreme hair, makeup, nail and fashion competition— the Battle of the Strands is set to hit the airwaves as a TV series, Global Beauty Masters, for the first time ever, premiering on Discovery Fit & Health on December 2.
Viewers will get an opportunity to watch beauty teams glam-off and have their artistry, as well as their stamina, tested as teams made up of stylists, nail technicians, designers and makeup artists compete in a battle for the title of Global Beauty Masters. Teams are pushed beyond their limits in six elimination challenges during the four-week series jam-packed with glamour, drama and awe-inspiring images with Las Vegas as the finale backdrop.
“Global Beauty Masters is America’s Next Top Model meets Project Runway meets Face Off,” says celebrity hair connoisseur Farouk Shami, Founder of Farouk Systems, Inc. and guest mentor on the show. “It’s fascinating to watch these groups of diverse artists, who have such passion for beauty, showcase their talent and skills while incorporating their different styles, cultural perspectives and techniques. The audience will be able to witness firsthand a total transformation right before their eyes.”
The teams were selected from renowned hair salons and beauty schools from around the world. During the competition, they demonstrated breakthrough techniques, showing off their abilities in front of guest celebrity judges including Krista White from America’s Next Top Model. Award-winning hair designer and National Director of Hair Color at Elizabeth Arden Red Door, Amy Michleb, is the host of the series.
Sponsors of the competition include title sponsor Farouk Systems Inc., Millennium Systems International, Ultratress and Kryolan Professional Make–up.
In the premiere episode, viewers will be introduced to the U.S. teams of beauty finalists, the start of their journey and their trials and tribulations. The international teams will join them during the third episode of the series airing on December 16. Out of nine U.S. teams and eight international teams, the declared winners will not only receive the title of Global Beauty Masters, but will also receive $100,000 in cash and prizes.
“This is by far one of the most exciting beauty contests ever seen on TV,” says Global Beauty Masters Co-Executive Producer Edward Sylvan. “The dedication to style these teams display has no bounds; for the lover of all things beautiful & fashionable, this is it.
