This past weekend, the beauty industry lost an amazing hairdresser and passionate leader. Eufora International Co-Founder Don Bewley died on October 30, 2015  at the age of 63 at his home in Carlsbad, Calif. He is survived by his wife, Beth, and his three children.

His career began in New York City where he trained with the best and went on to become a talented stylist. Before founding Eufora with his wife Beth, he opened multiple salons in the Cleveland area and was recognized as one of the top five retailing salons in North America. He spent many years as a platform artist and a Distribution Executive.

The foundation of Eufora was built on elevating the hairdresser and creating a platform for benefiting the salon. As a former salon owner, Don wanted to focus on education and all of the talented people doing great hair every day. The success of Eufora can be attributed to a lot of things; their products were top-performing and their commitment to providing education and business advice to salon professionals was always a priority. This, along with the creative and passionate drive from both Don and Beth allowed Eufora International to become the powerhouse company it is today.

Don was a humble man that impacted the lives of many by his passion for the industry and his personable nature. Hearing him speak about his family and the company was an experience anyone would have been lucky to be a part of. He was excited about the world of hair and excited to help people better themselves every day. He preached the importance of being a leader and being kind no matter the situation. He had a spirit that was unique and captivating and he will be truly missed by all.

An official statement from Eufora International reads, in part:

It is with a heavy heart that Eufora International announces the passing of its co-founder, Don Bewley, on October 30, 2015 at his home in Carlsbad, CA. A 30-year veteran of the salon professional industry, Bewley was one of the few hairdressers to still own a professional manufacturing corporation.

Not pleased with what he saw happening in the industry he loved, Bewley decided he wanted to take a greater role in elevating the salon industry, not just creatively, but also from a business perspective. “Hairdressers built this industry and they deserve to reap the rewards,” said Bewley. “As I traveled North America, I was overwhelmed by the many starving artists in our industry. I believe in the power and talent of my peers, and as a proud hairdresser myself, I know that greater success is possible through the right education and working with a committed manufacturer who is dedicated to more than just selling products.” His vision was the foundation of which he built Eufora, which has become one of North America’s fastest growing professional companies.
