These Trends Dominated The Runway This Season!

New York Fashion Week is just what we needed to cure our winter blues! This year emphasized minimal, chic looks, including sleek buns and slicked-back wet styles (a contrast from last season’s all-out extravagance!). But that doesn’t mean there was no DRAMA whatsoever—thanks to voluminous ponies at Sergio Hudson and the skyscraper updos at No Sasso.

Keep scrolling to check out the biggest hair and nail trends from Fall/Winter 2022. It’s the pick-me-up we ALL deserve!

1. Dramatic Ponies

If you’re going to wear a ponytail, why not up the ante by bringing in the drama? Nothing livens up a classic look like exaggerated length and over-the-top volume to make even the most basic ponies pop!

2. The Wet Look

There’s something about that “just stepped out of the pool” look that’s so effortlessly chic, even though the creation involves less water and more hairspray, gel and dare we say, “lube” (that one’s an industry secret).

3. Bejeweled Parts

A little bling never hurt no one, but instead of using jewelry, bring the spotlight to the hair with well-placed rhinestones and gems along the part line. This is a simple way to spruce up classic cornrows or a middle part.

The scarf isn’t just your go-to accessory for a bad hair day. Take it from these lead hairstylists—the right head scarf can quickly turn even a simple ponytail or a bob into an Instagram-worthy moment!

5. “Euphoria” Nails

HBO’s “Euphoria” has been pushing the beauty trends since its debut in 2019 and it doesn’t seem to be stopping in its second season. These long bedazzled claws in bold and nude colors are definitely Maddy-approved! Click here to get hair trends from the show’s head hairstylist Kim Kimble!

6. Structural Updos

Who says Marie Antoinette has to to be the only one with ceiling-grazing hair? These might not be the bouffants of the past, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t serving serious height and drama.

7. Polished Buns

You can never go wrong with a classic bun! Sometimes going back to the basics, with little tweaks in how the hair is wrapped at the base, make just as much of a bold statement.

8. Blunt Bobs

Whether it’s micro or shoulder-grazing, there’s something eye-catching about the blunt bob. No wonder it seems to be one of the go-to cool-girl cut for top models.
