6 Ways To Use A Demi-Permanent Gloss

close formula

Demi-permanent, liquid color is one of the salon’s most versatile workhorses. Do you know all the ways you can use it?

We gathered six ways to use Joico’s LumiShine™ Demi-Permanent Liquid Colors (now in 11 NEW shades) that can increase your salon service menu and help you get the most from your color line.

Add shade on shade dimension to hair that has become too light or faded by environmental damage or heat styling. Mix your demi-permanent liquid color with 5-volume developer and pull through faded lengths during a re-touch to add radiant color to midlengths and ends.

2. To Blend Up To 50 Percent Gray
Or to brighten and tone gray. Because gray hair is missing warm tones, this is the perfect way to fill hair before gray coverage.

3. To Prep Hair for a Vibrant Color
Prep a just-lightened canvas before a Color Intensity service. LumiShine Demi-Permanent Liquids tone and perfect the hair to ensure even your most pastel or vibrant intensity results.

4. To Repigmentize Hair for Tintbacks
When repigmentizing hair, use the Natural Copper and Natural Gold series to replace missing building blocks before applying your target shade.

5. To Even Out Porosity
Mix Clear into your formula when you’re concerned with the hair’s porosity for extra insurance against over-deposit, especially on damaged ends.

6. To Dilute the Intensity of a Shade
To do this, mix 1 oz. of your target shade with 1 oz. of Clear.
