Before you walk into McCormick Place for America’s Beauty Show on March 21st–23rd, make sure you have a game plan. With 60,000 salon professionals expected to visit the 450+ vendors in attendance, you’ll definitely be overwhelmed if you don’t plan ahead! Here’s our list must-see events along with some the new features you should check out!
1. BTC Presents the 15th Stylist Choice Awards
First thing’s first: Book your tickets now for the most prestigious awards in the beauty industry—the 15th Anniversary Stylist Choice Awards! Hosted at the Arie Crown Theater, doors open at 7 p.m. for cocktails and the show kicks off promptly at 8 p.m. Expect the unexpected as BTC honors the stylists, the products and the brands that have made an impact over the past year in our industry—all chosen by the BTC community! But hurry, tickets are going fast!
2. It’s Easier to Navigate Than Ever Before!
To be as prepared as possible for all ABS has to offer, it is imperative that you download the ABS Mobile App! Use the app to not only network with other stylists in attendance, but to favorite events and looks. Most importantly, the mobile app allows you to stay on top of your schedule throughout the jam-packed weekend! The app is now available for free in the iTunes Store and Google Play.
3. Dueling Runways!
This year marks the first time ABS is offering simultaneously running classes on two runway stages—the CosmoProf center stage and the SalonCentric stage! Both stages are located right off the show floor for easy access and will feature the beauty industry’s most celebrated artists! CosmoProf will be hosting ABS headliner and founder of the De Ridder International Academy, William De Ridder of Belgium; Robert Cromeans for John Paul Mitchell Systems; Beth Minardi of Beth Minardi Signature; Katie Nielsen and Charles Price from Scruples; Liza Espinoza for Joico; and Nick Arrojo of Goldwell. You can take all the classes available to become the next best colorist or stylist, however without knowledge on how best to operate your salon business, your skills will go unnoticed! Therefore, the various business education classes offered on Sunday and Monday of ABS are must-attend events!
