4 Celebrity Blonde Formulas From Kim Vo

Some stylists like to deconstruct red carpet updos for fun. But for Schwarzkopf Professional Blonding Ambassador Kim Vo, a good time involves scrutinizing celebrity blonde colors and imagining their formulas and how-tos. Lucky for of the “blonde-anistas” out there, Kim recently shared his insights into four, fabulous, bombshell blondes!

Margot Robbie’s Creamy Blonde

Natural level:  7
Highlights: Schwarzkopf Professional BLONDME Transparent Gel Powder (30g) + BLONDME Crystal Developer
Base: 30g BLONDME Toning Cream Sand + 30g Strawberry + 60g BLONDME Premium Care Developer 6% (20-volume)
Toner:  60g BLONDME Toning Cream Ice + 60g BLONDME Premium Care Developer 2% (7-volume)

Working in thin diagonal slices on the sides and heavier slices throughout the top and face frame area, apply foil highlights and process 30 to 45 minutes, lifting the hair to palest yellow. Apply the base color to the regrowth and process 30 minutes. Rinse, shampoo and treat with Schwarzkopf Professional BC Fiber Force Shampoo and Treatment. Tone, process for 10 minutes, rinse, shampoo and condition the hair.

Natural level: 8, with existing highlights through midlengths and ends
Highlights: Schwarzkopf Professional IGORA ROYAL FASHION LIGHTS One Step Highlighting System 60g L-00 + 60g IGORA ROYAL Oil Developer 12% (40-volume)

Apply the highlights using a balayage technique, creating a softly gradating effect from scalp to ends. Process 30 minutes. Rinse, shampoo with BC Color Save Silver Shampoo and treat with BC Color Save Treatment for 10 minutes.

Apply hand-painted highlights throughout the top sections and lift to palest yellow. Shampoo and condition with BC Fiber Force Shampoo and Conditioner. Apply toner to all strands, process 15 minutes, shampoo and condition, allowing the conditioner to process for three minutes.

Working of the part at the front hairline and continuing back to just behind the ear, alternate the two highlight formulas in thin and medium diagonal foiled slices. Lift to desired level, shampoo with BLONDME Illumi Lights Shampoo and condition with BLONDME Brilliance Treatment. Tone all strands, process 15 minutes, shampoo and condition with BLONDME Brilliance Light Cool Ice and BLONDME Brilliance Conditioner.
