2017 Wella TrendVision Semi-Finalists Announced!

Hairdressers from all over the world came together to celebrate the industry and showcase top talent right here in BTC’s hometown, Chicago! Wella Professionals kicked off their 2017 North American TrendVision Awards with the regional competition to announce which semi-finalists will move on to the 2017 International TrendVision Awards in London this November. From up-and-coming stylists to color experts, some of the industry’s most creative and innovative work was celebrated on the Wella stage. Enter the NATIONAL TrendVision Competition by May 15!

Contestants have the chance to compete in three categories: Color Vision, Creative Vision and the Student category. The Color Vision category is open to hairdressers of all ages and recognizes best-in-class color work. The Creative Vision category offers artists the freedom to express their creative vision by creating either a cut and finish and/or dressing hair with an editorial feel. The Student category is open to current students and recent graduates to recognize the best-in-class overall look.

Before the winners were announced, top artists from Coty Professional Beauty’s portfolio of brands headlined the event including Sonya Dove for Wella Professionals, Anthony Cole for Sebastian Professional and Diane Stevens for Nioxin. Sharing what inspires them, the artists all included a live onstage demo of their work along with showcasing several exclusive looks for the event.

Color Vision Gold Winner – Dana Simoneau from Hays, Kan.

Dana Simoneau will get to create looks for a photoshoot with a major magazine and go on to compete at the International TrendVision Awards in London this November.

Creative Vision Gold Winner – Ergun Tercan from Denver

Ergun Tercan will work backstage at New York Fashion Week and go on to compete at the International TrendVision Awards in London this November.

Student Gold Winner – Mykel Troye from West Jordon, Utah

Mykel Troye will receive a professional kit with a retail value at $2,000.
