QUICKIE: The Knot Braid

When amika Global Artistic Director Naeemah LaFond took #thebtcshow stage, she taught everyone how to create what she calls a no-brainer knot braid. So we caught up with Naeemah in our Connection Center directly after to get an up-close look at how to create this edgy braid that is perfect for novice braiders. Check it out below!

But first, Naeemah’s tips when creating the knot braid:

1. If you struggle with cornrows or Dutch braids, practice with this braid first to get the look and feel of braiding down.
2. Saturate the root with amika Haute Mess Texture Gel first for a sleek, wet-looking braid.
3. Before you make each knot, ensure your hand is keeping the braid tight and secure for a polished end result.
