Rusk Beta Blade Problem

i perchased rusk beta blades at salon international in london 04 they worked for about hlfway through the first hair cut then would not close, i was given a replacment pair, to find that after a little while using them they catch and pull hair. but if i turn them over so that the thumb is in the finger hole they work better but not perfect. i love the texture i get with them and do not want to give up with them, but i would like to know if other people have had the same problem, anyone?

well im left or right usually but i have only ever cut right handed for 27 years now
