Buying Shears

Hello!
I am a recent graduate of the Aveda Institute and am slowly trying to build up my collection of professional tools. We all know they are not cheap! I am looking to invest in a great set of shears. I do not feel that I can afford top notch right now, but want mid level high professional quality. I was asking around at the salon and most prefer Japanese brands including Mutsuzaki, Yasaka. I was also looking in to Kamisori and Sukkoto. Also I am planning on buying a 5.5" shear.
Any advice?
Also I am very interested in buying any of these shears "used". I have been watching Ebay. Any other websites that sell used or refurbished shears?
