hellppppp please bad bad cut

I asked to have my hair thinned out but now it looks like I have a mullet the ends are all stringy and thin and the top still kinda thick ...I had really thick hair just wanted it more managable now its all stringy and if I curl it I look like carol brady :( other than a pony tail or cutting it is there anything else I can do????
