barber shears
Posted: Saturday, August 02, 2008 7:45:03 PM
could someone please educate me more on barber shears used for scissor over comb? id like to give it a try but my shears are too short to properly execute this technique.
i.e: what is a good brand, length, cost, what kind of comb would you use? i'm assuming you would use a flat comb to get the most uniform result.
Thanks!!!

the length of the shear comes down to personal preference, my grandfather used 9" shears in the 70's, Now he uses a 5 or 5.5 and I also use a 5.5". I have no problem doing scissor over comb but I have to work small areas. Use what you feel comfortable with!

Also if you are ctuttin dry hair you may want to get shears with serrated edges to keep the hair from pushing away from you.
