A Colorful 2012

It’s 2012! Are your skills up to speed? Learning to create color with extensions not only adds to your repertoire, it can keep you sharp as a tack and help maintain a healthy clientele. Celeste Lucero, Technical Director for Great Lengths, offers three tips for shining at extension work:
Strand Guidelines—Follow these general rules for strand count: add 3-5 rows at the sides, 2-5 rows at the nape and 2-5 rows at the perimeter for volume.
Length Formula—When adding length, remember that double the length on the top equals the length on the bottom. So if you’re adding four inches of length on the top, you can add up to eight inches on the bottom.
Pick Your Pattern—Extensions are always placed in a pattern, i.e. a triangular pattern. Determine the pattern you will follow before you begin applying the extensions. Vote for your favorite finalist in the Great Lengths Before & After Imagery Contest!
