Kid Stuff
If you don't have a lot of experience with pre-schoolers, you might be stymied when there's a squirming wee one in your chair. BTC Member Tammy Hofstra explains that some kids are simply scared and others don't understand that it can be dangerous if they don't sit still. So she might tell them a story or show them a picture of her dog to calm them down. Sometimes she'll do the cut with the child standing in front of the window, looking for a rabbit or a bird or anything that will distract him. If all else fails, says Tammy, the child might be having a bad day, so ask the parent to bring him back another time.
