HOW-TO STEPS

    1

Major panel: Take a vertical section just behind the right ear above the mastoid separating the front and back of the head and clip away. Repeat this on the other side.

    2

Major panel: Take a horizontal section starting at the right temple circling around the high crown, ending at the left temple and clip away.

    3

Subsection: In the bottom right panel, divide a horizontal section above the right ear approximately one quarter to half an inch thick (section size will vary depending on hair texture and density). Comb to zero degree elevation and cut a square line against the skin at the jaw line.

    4

Repeat this process through the whole section then repeat on the opposite side.

    5

Take a diagonal section just behind the right ear and comb the hair to zero degree elevation. Using the front panel line as a guide, cut a line moving from short to long starting at the back of the ear and ending at the center back of the head.

    6

Take a parallel diagonal section and comb the hair to 45 degrees. Using the underneath section as a guide, cut a line that moves from long to short.

    7

Overdirecting to your previous section, repeat this process across the back on the head until you run out of hair to cut. This will create an external gradual buildup of weight that follows the head shape. Repeat this process on the opposite side.

    8

Cross check your sections for accuracy.

    9

Drop down your top panel. Take a diagonal section following the shape of the head that crosses from one side on the panel the other. Elevate to 90 degrees and cut a line moving from short to long, from the back to the front of the head.

    10

Take a parallel section and overdirect to the previous. Elevate to 90 degrees and cut the same line. Repeat this process until you reach the front of the head.

    11

Dry the hair using a flat wrap technique.

    12

Comb the hair forward to zero degree elevation. Using a slicing technique, cut a broken line moving from short to long just above the eyebrow.

  • close formula
    13

While still combing the hair straight down at zero degree elevation, cut a rounded line framing the face using the same sliding technique.

  • close formula
    14

Take horizontal sections across the top of the head and elevate to 90 degrees. Using a deep parallel point cutting technique, remove weight from the internal layer to create softer movement and texture.
