Paul Mitchell Contest Winner Martin Emmenegger How-Tos

As one of the winners of the 2010 JPMS Photo Shoot Competition, Martin Emmenegger from Switzerland was recently flown to Los Angeles to bring his entry’s creative idea to life, working with JPMS Editorial Director/NAHA winner Lucie Doughty and a team consisting of a top editorial photographer, makeup artist, and wardrobe stylist. Here’s how he got the look for each model.

HOW-TO STEPS

    Step 1: Use Paul Mitchell Sculpting Foam to blow dry the hair with the Paul Mitchell Express Ion Dry® v.2. and the Paul Mitchell Express Ion Round® brush (large).

    Step 2: Take little round sections around the head, back comb every section with the 413 Styling Brush and secure with bobby pins.

    Step 3: Add a big braid around the head and secure with bobby pins.

    Step 4: Finish with Paul Mitchell Extra-Body Finishing Spray® and Paul Mitchell The Shine™.

    Step 1: Use Paul Mitchell Sculpting Foam to blow dry the hair with the Paul Mitchell Express Ion Dry® v.2. and the Paul Mitchell Express Ion Round® brush (large).

    Step 2: Split the hair into 6 equal sections.

    Step 3: Braid every section from underneath around the head and fix it with a hair tie.

    Step 4: Add some hair pieces on every section and secure it with ribbons.

    Step 5: Finish with Paul Mitchell Extra-Body Finishing Spray® and Paul Mitchell The Shine™.

    Step 1: Use Paul Mitchell Sculpting Foam to blow dry the hair with the Paul Mitchell Express Ion Dry® v.2. and the Paul Mitchell Express Ion Round® brush (large).

    Step 2: Make a round section starting on the neck (right) ending on the top of the left eye.

    Step 3: Start braiding underneath from front to back and secure the braid with a hair tie.

    Step 4: Finish with Paul Mitchell Extra-Body Finishing Spray® and Paul Mitchell The Shine™.

    Step 1: Use Paul Mitchell Sculpting Foam to blow dry the hair with the Paul Mitchell Express Ion Dry® v.2. and the Paul Mitchell Express Ion Round® brush (large).

    Step 2: Take small round section around the head, back comb every section with the Paul Mitchell 413 Sculpting Brush and secure it with bobby pins.

    Step 3: Add flower and finish with Paul Mitchell Extra-Body Finishing Spray® and Paul Mitchell The Shine™.

    Step 1: Use Paul Mitchell Sculpting Foam to blow dry the hair with the Paul Mitchell Express Ion Dry® v.2. and the Paul Mitchell Express Ion Round® brush (large).

    Step 2: Make a half-moon section starting behind the left ear ending on the top of the right eye.

    Step 3: Comb the hair into the face and fix it around the hairline using clips.

    Step 4: Start braiding from underneath following the hairline into the face (the braid must come over the forehead). Secure with hair tie.

    Step 5: Roll the braid back and secure with bobby pins.

    Step 6: Split the rest of the hair in pieces, back comb it with the 413 styling brush, roll the hair on both sides towards the face and secure it with bobby pins.

    Step 7: Finish with Paul Mitchell Extra-Body Finishing Spray® and Paul Mitchell The Shine™.
