How-To: Ripple Layers
Prep using Alterna Caviar Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner with Seasilk. Spray a generous amount of Alterna Caviar Styling Spray to damp hair. Follow with four drops of Alterna Caviar Polishing Serum, and finish with Alterna Caviar Rapid Repair Spray.
Section the hair into quadrants. (Front to back, and ear base to ear base.)
Create a 2” nape section and cut desired perimeter length. Continue designing perimeter through the back including the crown.
Once the back is completed, take a 2” right angle or slanted section from center to left ear base. Push this section forward to rest flat on the client, in front of the shoulder, and remove the triangle.
Continue with this process through the crown, and repeat on the opposite side. Blowdry hair using the Rounded technique.

Trace a paper thin section following the shape of the hairline with a long tail comb. Cut section in an outward direction to the desired length. Be sure to keep finger angle parallel to the floor.
Repeat the tracing process through the left side panel, creating a Ripple Effect until you reach the left ear base.
Repeat steps 5 and 6 through the right side panel to the right ear base. Be sure to blend the fringe with the previously established guide.
Create radius sections through the back section, ear base to ear base.

Repeat technique first shown in Step 5, cutting the section in an outward motion.
