  Prep clean hair with PHYTO Phytomist Instant Hydrating Conditioner and dry the hair, which will be cut dry.

  Create a v-shaped section on the top of the head.

  Create a section at the temple and part downward at an angle matching the v shape.

  Bring a 1-inch section forward from the temple, cutting at the angle of the jawline.

  Continue to section working upward toward the original v parting, cutting in diagonal segments working toward the base of the nape.

  Mirror this cutting on the other side of the head, meeting at the base of the nape.

  Cutting with this technique, create graduated layers in a sweeping motion, following the head.

  Take down the top section. Hydrate hair and prep with Phytomist for moisture and definition.

  Begin to connect your top crown section with the back section.

  Cut and refine the shape of the front sections of the hair using the line of the jaw as a guide.

  Directing scissors downward, channel-cut the hair to add texture and a visual blend, working vertically toward the nape.

  Apply PHYTO Professional Intense Volume Mousse and blow-dry the hair to lend support to the shape and to integrate additional texture.

  For more visual blend and additional texture, create contrast in the cut by twisting small sections of hair throughout and sliding scissors through the twisted hair at the mid-shaft.
