The inspiration behind the Lumina collection was to successfully integrate light with hair.  The collection consists of elegant and classic styles, shapes taken into the future through the clever placement and use of bright and eye catching fibre optic lights.  The result is a collection that is both intriguing and pleasing to the eye.

Husband and wife Faruk Mohammed and Karen Brown founded hair by JFK in 1995. Situated in the heat of Edinburgh’s large student quarter the salon have over the years built up an exceptional reputation for creating innovative and original hair designs along with providing excellent customer care.

Salon owner and artistic director Karen Brown has become one of the most talked about hairdressers within Scotland over the past year and is highly regarded for her inspirational Avant Garde collections.  Karen has been a continual finalist in the Avant Garde category of the British Hairdressing Awards for several years now and has been a previous winner within the renowned AIPP Awards.

Hair by JFK is also building a reputation for producing exciting and popular consumer images and their collections are widely seen throughout the trade and consumer press both within the UK and overseas.  In 2005 Hair by JFK’s Neil Barton was a finalist for the Scottish Hairdresser of the Year category within the British Hairdressing Awards.
