Redken on the Runways – Trends for Spring 2006
Redken wowed the catwalk crowds with soft, shiny and natural hair during Spring Fashion Week 2006. Featured on the runways with Prada, Versace, Gucci, Miu Miu and more, Redken’s bohemian take on sophisticated standards were forerunning looks for the rest of the week’s events.
Guido Palau For Redken: “After doing the New York, Milan and Paris Spring 2006 fashion shows, it appears that the ponytail is going to be very strong this season. It started in New York at Calvin Klein and Donna Karan with a movement away from fuller, bigger shapes towards smaller heads and hair away from the face. The ponytail then made its debut at Prada, and it being such a directional show, really brought the trend to the forefront. It was everywhere – not just the shows I did, but many of the high-profile shows like Yves St. Laurent and Chloe as well.
The right type of ponytail is crucial. It’s not a sweet, schoolgirl type, it’s very sophisticated with elements of shine, bohemian texture, accessories and shape to strengthen and modernize the look for the season.
The great thing about this trend is that it’s a very sophisticated strong statement, yet it can be achieved very easily by most women.”
