They aren’t just fashion trends, they’re lifestyles, creative paths and explorations of the senses… Sunset in Cancun, Messina, Think Thai, Antigua and Modern Africa, are the summer time trends identified by trend research agency Whitaker International. These trends, each linked to an evocative geographic location, have been illustrated in a special kit that provides the source of inspiration for the NextLook Award.

Some of the world’s greatest hairdressers have drawn on these lifestyle trends to create hairfashion collections to enter in this prestigious international competition sponsored by Sogecos – producers of Cosmoprof – and Estetica magazine. The competition will come to a conclusion with a gala celebration and awards night held during Cosmoprof in Bologna.

The first of the looks we’ll explore is Sunset in Cancun.

Sunset in Cancun expresses a need, a need to feel at peace with oneself. The spiritual woman has a soft, sweet personality. Her style is essential. She wears light, smooth fabrics like voile and silk. She’s ready to move with the sea breeze. Her pearl and crystal accessories seem stolen from the sea. Her make-up is glossy and luminous. Her hair is smoothed with gel for a wet look. Her face and eyes are like a mirror to the soul.
