Fall 2012 Haircolor Forecast for Brunettes
…cool hues are on the color radar

Now that the summer is dwindling down, it’s time to prep yourself for next season’s hottest trends. So what’s in store for haircolor this fall? Expert colorist Edoardo Pauldo provides his color outlook for all things brunette.

The Cool Brunette
The pro: Edoardo Paludo, Davines International Creative Color Ambassador, London, UK
Forecast: “We’ll see a shift from full-head highlights with too much bleach to a healthy, rich, chocolate color. It’s a cooler brunette.”
Why: “Over the past two years, more and more women want color that’s increasingly natural-looking. They want shiny, beautiful hair.”
What to avoid: “Chunky highlights or slices. Obviously, if the hair is already colored, you may have to use some bleach—but use a soft bleach and tone it with a tobacco color. And avoid a single, all-over color, which could appear solid and blocky. Davines’ new Flamboyage meche technique creates such natural texture, it doesn’t look like the hair was colored.”
Perfect for: “Light eyes always stand out with brunette color. But brunette shades complement brown eyes as well.”
Not recommended: “Extremely pale skin. In those cases, warm the color slightly and avoid anything that’s too dark.”

Favorite Formula:
Natural Level: 6
Midlengths and ends: Davines A New Colour 30g 5,14 + 30g A New Colour Cream Base + 60g A New Colour Activator 30-volume. Process for 15 minutes.
Scalp area: A New Colour 20g 5,14 + 10g A New Colour 5,0 + 30g A New Colour Cream Base + 60g A New Colour Activator 20-volume. Apply to the root area and process for 35 minutes. Add some water to the color, rinse thoroughly and dry the hair.
Flamboyage highlights: 20g A New Colour bleaching powder + 60g A New Colour Activator 10-volume. Apply using Flamboyage Meche strips (20/24 strips). Process for 20 minutes. Remove strips by rinsing with warm water. Shampoo and towel dry the hair.
Toner: 30g 6,73 Davines Mask  + 45g Activation Source 10-volume. Apply as a toner, process for 10 minutes.
Maintenance: Davines Alchemic Tobacco Shampoo and Conditioner or Davines Nou Nou Shampoo and Conditioner.
