Want the most volume at the crown? Do this:

  • Twist a section
  • Elevate to 180 degrees
  • Slide-cut up

This removes weight from the midlengths and ends, adds bounce in the crown and results in a piecey, textured effect.

Want to personalize your cuts and remove excess weight in the hair? Do this:

  • Create a section and elevate out to 45 degrees (or a little higher)
  • Weave shears through the section, then slide-cut up with soft tension

This technique creates channels and movement to remove excess weight and create internal layers—it’s a go-to technique when you want to enhance that natural and effortless cut.
